Dr. Lori Jurgens came to us in January 2014 from San Juan, Puerto Rico, where she grew up, married, and practiced the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for 20 years. She was chief of Oral Surgery at her two local hospitals for most of that time, and was extremely active as both a performer and a director in all varieties of music. She received her bachelor’s degree at the age of 19 in Speech Pathology from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Dr. Jurgens completed her dental degree at Loyola University in Maywood, Illinois, and went on to do her surgical residency back home at the University of Puerto Rico. She has since completed an additional certificate in Forensic Death Investigation at the University of Florida. Dr. Jurgens is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support. Dr. Jurgens holds a staff position at North Shore Medical Center, is a fellow of the American Association of Oral Surgeons as well as a diplomate of the American Board of Oral Surgery.
